2nd Prize: Euro 10.000,00

3rd Prize: Euro 7.000,00

The most promising QUARTET will have a “musicalresidence” in Trieste for two
years (2010 and 2011), to play 6 concerts (with fee) in all.
To all winners shall be offered the opportunity to perform within the concert program
of Associazione Chamber Music, in Trieste (Sala del Ridotto).

Central European Initiative (CEI) Special Award: Euro 3.000,00
offered by Executive Secretariat to the best performing ensemble coming from the 18 countries belonging to CEI (Albania, Austria, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia,
Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Ukraine).
The ensembles coming from these countries (Italians excluded) shall be reimbursed
the costs for hotel accommodation in Trieste, and their subscription fee shall be waived.

Amedeo Baldovino Special Award: Euro 4.000,00 offered by Maureen Jones Baldovino to the ensemble best performing a Brahms’s score.

Libero Lana Special Award: Euro 3.000,00 offered by Stefano and Francesco Lana
to the Trio best performing one Schubert’s Trio, chosen between op.99 and op.100.


North Trieste Rotary Club Special Award: Euro 3.000,00 offered by the Rotary Club
to the ensemble best performing the compulsory piece composed by Azio Corghi for
the 11th Competition (as required by the second preliminary round).

Audience Award


The winners of the above mentioned prizes shall participate freely in the final concert
(to be held on the evening of the last day of the Competition) with a programme to
be defined by the Jury. In addition, the winner ensemble shall perform a concert at
the “Palazzo del Governo” of Trieste on Monday, May 25th, 2009, at 20:30 p.m.
